What's Wrong With This Picture?

Well here we are at Tahoe, it's Memorial Day weekend and we should be out on the boat... except the weather played a nasty trick on us and it's freakin' cold! In fact it's so cold that the predicted rain turned into snow last night and we awoke to find 1 inch of the white stuff on our balcony this morning.

Madison and I Got Matching Skirts!

The good thing about wearing an adult size XS is that you also can fit into a child's size XL. So today at Target, Madison and I bought matching skirts from the kids department! I don't know why more clothing companies don't make mother/daughter clothes. I think it's a fun and cute idea. Maybe I should start my own line of clothing!!!!

The Day My Rocket Flew Me Into the Solar System By Madison Titus
This is a story Madison was asked to write for her First grade class. They are studying the solar system. Madison handwrote the essay and then typed it herself. She was the first student to finish it and the teacher was in disbelief when she read the story-- it's more creative and more fluid than what most kids are capable of writing in First Grade:
One day I was building a rocket ship with my friend. I went inside the rocket ship and it suddenly started blasting off into the Solar System!
I saw the Earth. The Earth looked like a ball so I looked at Mercury. I saw its sky. The sky looked dark even in the daytime. It felt very hot but I liked it. Then I went to Venus. I know that Venus is the second planet from the sun. My friend said, "Isn’t Venus very, very hot?" "Yes Venus is very, very hot," I told her. She said, "Wow, I didn’t know that!" "I was taking a guess," I said. She asked, "Do you know everything?" "No," I said, "I do not. I do not even know if you have a cat or a fish. Will you tell me?" She said, "Yes, I will tell you. I don’t have any."
And then I pressed a button and the rocket went to Mars. I liked Mars. Mar’s nickname is the Angry Red Planet. My friend asked, "Is Mars the fourth planet from the sun?" I told her, "Yes, it is." I saw two moons.
The rocket went to Jupiter next. I said, "Hey, I see the Great Red Spot! Can we look inside?" My friend said Ok so we looked inside. I liked it a lot. My friend asked, "can we go out?" I said yes. And then, we went to Saturn. I saw 30 moons. I asked, "Can we go closer to Saturn?" My friend said yes so I looked but I could not count its many rings.
I went next to Uranus. Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun. I said, "I know how many moons it has! More than 27 moons and I know that Uranus has 11 rings.
Then I went to Neptune. Neptune has eight moons and a great dark spot. Pluto was coming closer. And then I went to Pluto. It is the 9th planet from the sun.
Every 248 years its orbit is closer then Neptune’s to the sun. It has one moon.
It’s made from ice and rocks. I know that it is the smallest planet.
Finally, I went back to Earth. I was in time for lunch. My daddy and my mommy didn’t even know that I was gone.
